MVP

Pete Brown - 01 January 2009

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been awarded the 2009 Microsoft MVP in Client Application Development (primarily for Silverlight). I was awarded for the first time in 2008, and went through a few different leads before being assigned to Suzanna Moran. Of all the leads I had, she’s definitely been the most proactive about getting information out to her folks and advocating for us within MS. She’s also the only one that was active on Twitter.

I’d also like to extend a special thanks to the folks who have had me present at their user groups and codecamps in 2008. Without you guys, it will be much harder to reach the development community, and the award would be either impossible, or not nearly as meaningful.

I’m looking forward to a busy 2009. There are lots of really great things coming out in Silverlight and the related tools and technologies this year. Silverlight is already coming into its own as a serious development platform and it’s only going to get better.
