Correct Silverlight 1.1 Alpha Refresh Silverlight.js File

Pete Brown - 02 August 2007

The Silverlight 1.1 SDK comes with a 1.0 version of the Silverlight.js file. I'm not sure if MSFT intended us to make some modification to that, or it was just a mistake when they deployed. If you use the file that came with the SDK, your users will get prompted to download the 1.0 RC version of Silverlight instead of the 1.1 Alpha Refresh.

You can get the correct version from my site's copy in the Silverlight Balloons 3 example. (please download using the "correct version" link in this post, as the zip file contains the incorrect SDK version as noted in the comments on that blog entry)

I hope that helps save someone else the pain of dealing with that.

Peter, the file is pretty old. The September refresh of Silverlight came with the correct files, to the best of my knowledge.

Either way, however, this should have worked (the August files still work today). If you could be more specific about the problem you ran into, I can help you out. Chances are you are running into a problem elsewhere.

    Pete
