The mid-Atlantic community has come together to create an
awesome developer-oriented family event for June 30 and July 1,
2011: the Mid Atlantic Developer Expo.
Yes, I said family-oriented. We'll have a great expo area with
demos of interesting hardware hacking, robotics and other cool
things from both inside and outside the Microsoft development
community, many of which will be great to share with the kids.
I'm helping coordinate the hardware hackery type stuff. That
includes the proposed sessions as well as the demos in the demo
hall.
In addition to the demo/expo hall, we have room for sessions
too, so come and speak about your Netduino or Arduino or FEZ Panda
or CNC machine or other interesting and cool robotics and
microcontroller and general hardware hacking topics. Hacked a
Kinect to interface with a Commodore 64? Bring it! Bonus points for
bringing gear to demo! All levels are welcome, from beginner to
uber-maker. Submit your
session ideas here!
Including the topics I've mentioned, we're looking for speakers
to cover the spectrum:
- Web Development
- Database Development
- Client Development
- Hardware Hacking and Microcontroller Programming
- Natural User Interface (NUI) Development
- Agile and Best Practices
- Open Source Development
- Beginner Topics
- Robotics
- Portal and Content Management System administration and
development
- Infrastructure management and development
Don't worry if your topic of choice isn't shown...we're open to
suggestions beyond the list above, so any development-related topic
is fair game.

- Interested in demoing something awesome (or interesting, or
nuts) on the expo floor? Contact me.
- Can't demo in-person, but have samples or demonstration units
you want to ship down for demos? Contact
me.
So come down and attend. Demo if you can. Speak if you can.
Definitely bring the family and enjoy Virginia Beach, which is
beautiful this time of year
