Next month, I'll be speaking at Tech
Ed Europe 2010 in Berlin. I'm really excited, as I haven't been
further east than Lille, France. I've always heard Germany was a
great place to visit.
I'm presenting three sessions, covering WPF and Silverlight,
plus some time on the Silverlight Experts Roundtable:
DEV205 - 10 Things Every Silverlight and WPF Developer Must
Know
If you're a code-on-the-client guy, Silverlight and WPF are the
technologies to know. However, they can be really hard to get into.
Let's face it, XaML, dependency properties, the binding system -
these are all new to most developers. This session is a crash
course on developing in XaML-based technologies and will give you
everything you need to know to get started, the knowledge you'll
need to build on, and where to go once you move beyond Hello World.
Interested in Silverlight or WPF but haven't been able to get past
the initial barriers? This session is for you.
DEV306 - Introduction to WCF RIA Services for Silverlight 4
Developers
WCF RIA Services, released alongside Silverlight 4, represents a
new take on multi-tier application development. In this code-heavy
talk, we'll introduce RIA Services and then walk through how you
can use it to build your own applications using Silverlight 4 and
ASP.NET.
DEV308 - Light Up on Windows 7
Silverlight and WPF applications can both light up on Windows 7,
using features like task bar pinning, speech synthesis and the
sensor and location API. In this session we'll see how to make your
Silverlight apps look great and look native when run on Windows,
and how to build amazing WPF applications that take advantage of
the APIs offered by Windows 7.
WEB302 - Silverlight Experts Roundtable
Damir Tomicic, Gill Cleeren, Laurent Bugnion, Pete Brown
In this interactive session you will get the chance to ask the
toughest questions to the Silverlight experts.
